Election 2012: Orswell vs. Chu

Political newcomer Jack Orswell is challenging incumbent Rep. Judy Chu (D-El Monte) in the race for the newly drawn 27th Congressional District, which includes Alhambra and a large portion of the San Gabriel Valley. Orswell, a former FBI agent and Republican, has tapped into some residents' frustration over political gridlock, Pasadena Star-News reports. "Congress is entrenched and not doing the job for America," he said.

Chu has been an elected official for more than 25 years and cites her experience as a congresswoman, school board member, Monterey Park City Council member, and member of the State Assembly and Board of Equalization as her qualifications for another term in the House of Representatives.
