El Monte police shoot man in stolen delivery truck in San Gabriel

El Monte police shot and wounded Friday morning a man in San Gabriel who allegedly stole a delivery truck, Los Angeles Times reports. The pursuit ended at San Marino Avenue and Leslie Drive around 4:40 a.m. when the driver reversed toward police officers and they opened fire.

El Monte police received a report that the delivery truck was stolen in El Monte. They caught up with the driver on the westbound 10 Freeway and initiated a short pursuit onto San Gabriel streets.

The suspect, who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call LA County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at 323.890.5500.
