Donating household goods and items in Alhambra

Alhambra residents may have to drive to a donation center if they are interested in dropping off household goods or items this holiday season. Alhambra City Council banned in July donation bins in the city after staff said the boxes are often improperly maintained and over-flowing with trash. Effective Sept. 30, only nonprofit organizations that own property in Alhambra, such as the Salvation Army, may place a donation box on their own lots.
