Crimes reported and traffic accidents in Alhambra: April 10 to April 16

The map tracks crimes reported and traffic accidents from April 10 to April 16, according to Alhambra Police Department records.

On April 20 police apprehended a suspect accused of following women home and robbing them as they got out of their cars. The suspect, Jose Avila, 29, was on parole for home-invasion robbery when he was apprehended. Police found a BB gun, clothing, and other evidence linking him to the crimes.

The robber began his spree in mid-March, targeting neighborhoods in the San Gabriel Valley. Investigators believe he had struck in the Alhambra area eight times, according to Sergeant Joe Flanagan of the Alhambra Police Department.
