Car flips upside down in traffic collision on Valley Boulevard*

A two-vehicle crash on Valley Boulevard left one car upside down Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and impeded traffic for 30 minutes, police said.

A male driver in a Honda Accord was heading east on Valley Boulevard. While making a left onto 6th Street, he collided with a Toyota Prius heading west on Valley, according to Sgt. Jerry Johnson of the Alhambra Police Department. Upon impact, the Prius flipped upside down and landed near the 76 gas station at the intersection.

Neither drivers were under the influence, according to Johnson.

Both drivers complained of pain and the female driver of the Prius requested to go to the hospital, Johnson said. No other injuries were reported.

Alhambra police closed down the intersection during the investigation and opened traffic around 10 a.m.

*CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the Accord was heading west and turning right onto 6th Street while the Prius was heading east and making a left. We apologize for the error.

  1. Vehicle collisions are now days quite common on highways and streets. Due to irresponsible driving and speed in most of the cases vehicle collision occurs; here also we have found how two vehicles Honda Accord and Toyota Prius were collide with each other in Valley Boulevard. This is really horrible due to collision of vehicles we lost lives as well as spend money of repair and service of our vehicle; from here we can get best repair and service facilities for our vehicle if we are facing any accident; but we can’t replace life if we lost during accidents.

The Toyota Prius sped straight on Valley Blvd while the Honda Accord was turning left. Those are the facts according to the security camera.
