Blockheads snow cream hits Main Street in November

The weather may be cooling down, but more icy desserts are coming to Alhambra. Snow cream shop Blockheads Shavery will be opening its Main Street location the first half of November.

Blockheads management has been looking forward to opening the store at 12 W. Main Street, its second location in Los Angeles County. “We’ve always wanted to extend our store to the Eastside,” said Brian Liang, general manager of the original store in West Los Angeles. “We just thought Alhambra was a good location.”

Snow cream is a cross between Hawaiian shaved ice and ice cream. Blockheads offers four main flavors along with toppings and sauces. Regular flavors include original, green tea, strawberry, and black sesame. Seasonal flavors like cantaloupe, avocado, strawberry cheesecake, and taro root will also be offered.

Blockheads Shavery in West Los Angeles has maintained a 4 out of 5 star rating on Yelp, a business rating website, and has over 1,110 reviews. One customer was even left speechless by the snow cream. “I had a strawberry one with coconut, some nuts and a drizzle of condensed sauce on top and it was out of this world good!” wrote David Z.
