The 18 schools in the Alhambra Unified School District had their first day on Tuesday. For many students, especially those in high school, it meant the opportunity to check out new facilities, the Pasadena Star-News reports. Century, Mark Keppel, and Alhambra High all received renovations or new buildings over the summer. They were paid for with $75 million in Bond C funds, according to the Star-News. Bond Measure MM also gave AUSD $50 million to improve and expand its elementary schools, the newspaper reports.
