Babysitter from Alhambra charged with with child molestation

A 19-year-old Alhambra babysitter charged with sexually molesting two boys in his service for more than half a year pleaded not guilty on Monday.

Jordon Liu was hired through Sittercity.com to look after two Glendale brothers, 8 and 3 years old respectively, for the past eight months.

On November 11, Liu’s alleged wrongdoing came to light as the mother educated her sons about inappropriate physical contact by explaining the Penn State football coach scandal. The brothers revealed that Liu has been treating them in what she had described as inappropriate.

Liu has conversed with more than 100 parents on the Sittercity.com, according to World Journal. He was also a member of care.com. It was unclear of how many times Liu has been hired.

Sittercity.com has been cooperating in the police investigation and terminated Liu’s account as soon as the alleged offense was exposed. The website has also emailed any possible users who have came into contact with the suspect. Spokeswoman Mary Schwartz told World Journal that every user of Sittercity.com has to provide personal information for a background check. People with records of sexual offenses are not allowed to register.

Police said Liu was held with a $2.7 million bail and is due back in Burbank Superior Court on January 5.

Glendale police are requesting that anyone with information regarding the case call 818-548-3106.
