Assemblyman Chau hosts holiday meet and greet in SGV
California Assemblyman Ed Chau (D-Monterey Park) — who represents Alhambra and much of the west San Gabriel Valley — held Dec. 9 a holiday meet and greet and toy drive at the Langley Senior Center in Monterey Park. The event included an introduction from Monterey Park Mayor Pro Tem Anthony Wong, a performance by the Garvey School District choir Rhythmax, food donated by the Monares and Panda Restaurant groups, and a toy drive to benefit San Gabriel Valley families.
Chau also presented an update on his legislative priorities, including three assembly bills signed into law this year: AB 381, which awards elder abuse and fraud victims attorney fees and costs of litigation; AB 873, which creates permanent housing for homeless families and individuals; and AB 984, which assists low to moderate income citizens with their first housing purchase by utilizing Energy Efficient Mortgage grants and providing down payment assistance.
