The San Gabriel Mountains Forever Leadership Academy is accepting applications until 11/18!

The San Gabriel Mountains Forever Leadership Academy is accepting applications! 

The Leadership Academy is an organizer training program of San Gabriel Mountains Forever (SGMF), a diverse coalition of individuals and organizations working to protect and enhance access to our mountains, rivers and parks. The goal of the Leadership Academy is to train the next generation of public lands advocates, particularly among youth and in communities of color.

This training is ideal for people who want to learn advocacy skills to improve urban access to the San Gabriel Mountains, Rivers, and Watershed areas. Participants will have the opportunity to design and carry out a project connecting their communities to the San Gabriel Mountains.  

The Leadership Academy is a FREE program. Classes are led by coalition staff and organizers on various topics including community organizing, public speaking, and advocacy.  Participants are eligible to receive:

·      Up to $1,000 to organize a community project

·      $500 upon completion of the academy

·      Financial aid for transportation
