PharmSC Clinic Health Fair Offers Free Flu Shots and Health Education

PharmSC Clinic's third annual health fair will have students from the USC School of Pharmacy, USC Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, USC Physician's Assistant Program (Keck School of Medicine of USC) and UCLA School of Dentistry conducting screenings and providing health education to the community.
In addition, PharmSC Clinic is collaborating with Operation Diabetes from the USC School of Pharmacy and the Rotary Club of Alhambra to celebrate National Diabetes Awareness Month! Come to the health fair and learn about Type 2 Diabetes through screening tests, information on diabetes risks, and how to manage the disease.
Also attending are the Alhambra Hospital Medical Center, who are providing carotid artery scans and cancer checks, and the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center mobile blood donation service.*
The following screenings will be offered free of charge:
- Diabetes
- Cholesterol
- Hypertension
- Body Fat Analysis
- Immunizations (Flu shots)**
- Osteoporosis
- Diabetic Foot Checks
- Vision
- Cancer Check
- Carotid Artery Scan
Education booths will be providing information on the following:
- Cancer Awareness
- OTC
- Travel Health Awareness
- Power to End Stroke
- Emergency Preparedness
- Sexual Health Awareness
- Smoking Cessation
- Healthy Living and Alternative Medicine
- Arthritis Awareness
- Pain Management
- Geriatrics
- Asthma Awareness
- Oral Health
- Occupational Therapy

*Note: If you are considering donating blood, please bring a photo ID.
**Note: A free flu shot will be given to participants who have done one screening and have gone to one educational booth. Those between the ages of 11 and 18 may get a flu shot with parental consent, but are not eligible for the other screenings.
