PASADENA: A CULTURAL MOSAIC An Exhibition Celebrating the City’s 125th Birthday

Inspired by the Tournament of Roses in Pasadena

Artist: Flavia Zuniga-West

About the Artist: My practice is based in celebrating diversity, cultural fusion and community. The process used to create the work is based off of the traditional folk art techniques for piñatas. This technique was taught to me by my mother who immigrated to this country when she was twelve years old from Mexico City. The piece highlights the rich traditions that have been lost or re-interpreted in the United States.
