Nighttime Reading Program at the Alhambra Civic Center Library

Alhambra Civic Center Library

101 S. 1st Street
Alhambra , CA 91801 United States

Sign up, beginning Monday, January 13 (at your age-specific reference desk), for an all new library program called "Nighttime Reads" at the Civic Center Library. Nighttime Reads promises to celebrate Alhambra's dark and mysterious side. The program runs Monday, January 13 – Sunday, February 16, 2014, and will provide exciting reading opportunities for all age groups.  Simply fill out a brief book review card concerning any book you've been reading, and continue with additional book reviews (limit one per week), earning the reader an "opportunity" ticket to win one of the grand prizes to be awarded at the end of the program. Additionally, an exciting group of events has been planned for childrens, teens and adults – programs that illuminate the nighttime theme – such as a visit by noted mystery author Denise Hamilton on Feb. 11th and also a planetarium event for children.

Independent journalism is a bedrock of democracy--and it's in crisis. Here at the Alhambra Source, we're committed to covering the local stories that matter most to you. We don’t have advertisers and we don’t have pay walls, but we do have bills. You read to the end of this story. That's great. But this kind of journalism will end without public support. Join us!
