The 2020 annual Fourth of July fireworks show and entertainment program has been cancelled

The Recreation and Community Services Department regrets that our traditional July 2020 event with fireworks and entertainment has been canceled due to measures regarding Coronavirus/COVID-19.

Reminders regarding fireworks in Monterey Park:

  • Fireworks are not allowed at any time in any park.
  • Only Safe and Sane fireworks are legal in Monterey Park, and only allowed on July 4 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Illegal fireworks use can be reported to the MPPD non-emergency line at 626-573-1311.

Virtual Fourth Celebration

We invite the Monterey Park Community to participate in a 2020 virtual community-wide celebration by submitting photos to:

  • Show your patriotism. Dress up and decorate your home for July 4. Submit photos by July 6 of you safely celebrating.
  • Recognize our active/veteran military. Submit a photo along with name, military branch and rank by June 19. To be recognized on July 4.
  • Email photos to: [email protected]. Photos will be included in a slideshow on the city website and shared on social media.
