Local MOMS Club Raised $1,200 for Autism Speaks

The MOMS Club® of Monterey Park & Alhambra, CA participated in the Autism Speaks Walk – Los Angeles on April 18th. Club members raised over $1,200 for autism research, awareness and advocacy.

The MOMS Club walked in support of Melissa Shields and her son Zander, who was recently diagnosed with autism. Melissa is a local mother who has been an active member of the MOMS Club since it was founded in 2013.

Autism Speaks is the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization. It is dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. The MOMS Club (MOMS Offering Moms Support) is a support group for at-home mothers. The MOMS Club® of Monterey Park & Alhambra, CA is the local chapter of the International MOMS Club, a nonprofit run by and for mothers with over 2,100 chapters and 100,000 members worldwide.
