Job opening for experienced painter

Job Summary:

Perform painting of wall, ceiling surfaces of the hospital.                                   

Job Duties, Critical Functions:

Ø    Prepare areas for painting, which may include moving of various hospital furnishings.

Ø    Paint walls and ceilings using a paint roller and brush for application.

Ø    Climbing, standing and working on ladders up to 20 feet.                                               

Ø    Requires holding of applicator, overhead work, reaching and kneeling.  

Ø    Other duties as assigned

Physical Capabilities:                                         

Able to bend, stoop, carry, kneel, push, pull, and lift.        

Knowledge and use of a ladder, or scaffold.               

Exert up to 30 foot of pound force to push or pull carts of weight up to 200 pounds.

Climbing of ladders 10 to 20 feet.   

Reaching overhead using tools.                                 

Push and pull carts over uneven surfaces.   

Carrying items 50% of the work day.

Lifting items 50% of the work day.                

Physical Demands:

Climbing       10%                          Squatting        5%

Kneeling          5%                         Bending 15%

Twisting    5%                         Standing       40%

Walking  10%                          Sitting                 10%

Mental Capabilities:

Ø    Speak, read and write English.                                     

Ø    Capable of passing class I physical.

Ø    Ability to take directions and carry them out completely and efficiently.

Ø    Experience preferred.  

Ø    Must be available all shifts, any day.   

Ø    Must be people orientated.

Ø    Able to comprehend and perform technical tasks.

Ø    Analytic ability and deductive reasoning.
