Free Summer Meals Offer Good Nutrition to Our Kids

Alhambra , CA United States

CITY OF ALHAMBRA- With summer right around the corner, families must think
about providing healthy meals while school is out. The city of Alhambra’s Parks &
Recreation Department is proud to provide free healthy meals to children during the
summer season at some of its local parks.

This summer, meals will be served at Almansor, Granada, Alhambra and Story Park
Monday through Friday beginning Monday, June 4th from 11:30 a.m.to 2:00 p.m. There
are no income requirements or registration. Anyone age 18 or younger may come to eat
and also participate in the summer activities provided by the Parks & Recreation
Department. The last day of the free summer lunch program is Thursday, August 9th.

The Summer Food Service Program is a U.S. Department of Agriculture federally funded
program that reimburses sponsors for administrative and operational costs to provide
meals for children 18 years of age and younger during periods when they are out of
school for fifteen or more consecutive school days.
