Art Contest for High School Students

SAN GABRIEL FINE ARTS ASSOCIATIONHOLDS ART CONTEST FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTSThe San Gabriel Fine Arts Association will hold a special art competition for High School students.  Students will have the opportunity to display their artwork in a professional art exhibition.   We want to give students a chance to be professional artists and encourage them to pursue their love of art throughout their adult lives. 

The Art Contest is open to High School students from Freshman to Senior levels.

Each entry must be an original in design and execution.  This is your opportunity to create your own, interesting, distinctive, fresh, personal, interpretation of art.  

Contest Prizes:  First Prize – $200, Second Prize – $150, Third Prize – $100

Entry Fee: $3 per entry (maximum 2 entries per person)

Each entrant will receive a one-year membership at the San Gabriel Fine Arts.

Submission period: April 2 – April 6, from Noon to 4:00 p.m. 

Location: Glass Room Gallery – 320 S. Mission Dr, San Gabriel.  

Prize winners will be announced at our show reception on Friday, April 19th, from 5pm to 7pm, at the Glass Room Gallery.

For artworks to be displayed, please follow instructions/restrictions:Two-dimensional artwork:  No heavy frames, No glassSuggested Artwork categories and mediums as follows:• Categories: People, Structure, Landscapes, Animal, Seascape, Sculpture/Ceramics• Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor• Drawings: pastels, colored pencil, pencil, charcoal, ink, markers• Collage: must be two-dimensional, for example: paint, paper, fabric, etc.• Prints: lithographs, silkscreen, block prints• Mixed Media: Use of two or more mediums – pencil, watercolor, ink, Computer Generated Art, Photography
