The Alhambra Police Department will be hosting its very popular Citizens Police Academy in the fall. The Citizens Police Academy is an eleven week program which provides members of the community with a look inside the Alhambra Police Department and all facets of local law enforcement. The goal of the academy is to offer participants a fun and exciting opportunity to see first hand what it’s like to walk in the shoes of an Alhambra law enforcement officer. During the Academy, students will be introduced to police operations, will “ride-a-long” with a patrol officer on duty and participate in lectures and role playing exercises. The sessions are held on eleven, consecutive Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30pm, beginning September 7, 2011. Applications are available by calling (626) 570-5177.
Independent journalism is a bedrock of democracy--and it's in crisis. Here at the Alhambra Source, we're committed to covering the local stories that matter most to you. We don’t have advertisers and we don’t have pay walls, but we do have bills. You read to the end of this story. That's great. But this kind of journalism will end without public support. Join us!
