Alhambra Police sponsor golf tournament for "Children and Mentor Program"

A whole bunch of Alhambra children are going to camp in the San Bernardino Mountains this summer – for free! – thanks to the personnel of the Alhambra Police Department and their Children and Mentor Program – "C.A.M.P."

And you can assist in this charitable act by participating in the "Alhambra Police C.A.M.P. Golf Tournament" which, for 20 years, has been raising funds to make sure that Alhambra kids don't miss a summer camp experience in the mountains.

The golf tournament, limited to just 144 players, is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23 at the Alhambra Golf Course, 630 S. Almansor St.  Check-in is at 9:30 a.m. and the shotgun start, with a 4-person team scramble format, is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

The entry fee is just $125 per individual golfer, and that fee covers green fees, golf carts, a tee gift, lunch, an awards ceremony, AND dinner!!

Non-golfers can also participate in this worthwhile event by becoming a Tee Sponsor with a $115 donation, or a Major Sponsor with a $215 donation.  Tee Sponsors will have their company or personal name displayed at a tee and receive a plaque; Major Sponsors will have their company or personal name displayed, receive a plaque, and receive a bonus gift.

You'll find a Donation and Reservation Form in this issue of Around Alhambra; forms are also available in the lobby of the Alhambra Police Department (211 S. First St.), or by calling the Community Oriented Policing Section at (626) 570-5177.

But time is of the essence – the tournament is just days away and your space can only be assigned when your payment is received.  So act today; submit your entry or sponsor fee and insure an exciting summer for Alhambra children at summer camp!
