I’m a lifelong resident of Alhambra and having a local newspaper, like Alhambra Source, is very important to me. It’s the only way to know the issues that will directly affect my day to day, where I live. That’s why I decided to support Alhambra Source with a monthly donation.

Alhambra Police Department: Update on arrest for jewelry theft and request for information

Location

Alhambra , CA United States

On November 22, 2016, Alhambra Police Department detectives arrested Stanislav Kirsanov for grand theft.  At the time of his arrest Mr. Kirsanov was in possession of several pieces of jewelry that detectives believe may have been stolen while Mr. Kirsanov was working as a moving contractor. Since our first Press Release on November 23, 2016, two additional victims have been identified.  Detectives believe additional people have used Mr. Kirsanov’s moving services and are not aware they are missing property.

The Alhambra Police Department is asking anyone who hired Mr. Kirsanov for moving services to contact Sergeant Elizalde at (626) 570-5161.

**Original Press Release from November 23, 2016 **

On Monday, November 21, 2016, officers from the Alhambra Police Department took a crime report related to theft of jewelry from a home.  The couple learned their items were missing after they had moved from one part of Alhambra to another. The couple suspected the workers from the moving company were involved.  A few days later, part of their loss (men’s Rolex Watch with distinct markings) was found for sale on Craigslist.

On Tuesday, November 22, 2016, Alhambra Police Detectives, posing as interested buyers made contact with the seller.  Detectives conducted the undercover sting operation in Sherman Oaks and took possession of the stolen watch and detained the person selling it. The suspect, Stanislav Kirsanov (30 years old, Sherman Oaks resident) was arrested for grand theft, 487(a) PC.

During a search of the suspect’s vehicle, detectives found additional high end jewelry, jewelry bags and jewelry cases believed to be stolen property from other similar thefts.  Mr. Kirsanov may be associated with the following moving companies: U.S. Moving, Mr. Low Prices, Affordable Movers Co. and Best In The West Moving and Storage.  It is possible Mr. Kirsanov may have committed similar thefts while working as a mover for one of the above mentioned moving companies. Mr. Kirsanov has used different names in the past and may be known by a variety of aliases.

If you hired any of the above mentioned moving companies and experienced a loss (theft), or if you have hired Mr. Kirsanov as a mover, please contact the Alhambra Police Department at (626) 570-5157.
