Alhambra will use "Going to Granada, Spain!" as the theme for its 2013 Rose Parade float, World Journal （世界日报）reports. The float celebrates the 50th anniversary of Alhambra and Granada becoming sister cities.
The city of Alhambra's namesake is a 10th century Islamic palace in Granada. The flower float will resemble Alhambra Palace’s architecture, such as the lion sculpture, temples, and water fountain.
Independent journalism is a bedrock of democracy--and it's in crisis. Here at the Alhambra Source, we're committed to covering the local stories that matter most to you. We don’t have advertisers and we don’t have pay walls, but we do have bills. You read to the end of this story. That's great. But this kind of journalism will end without public support. Join us!
