Alhambra Source nace de Alhambra Project, una iniciativa de investigación de la Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, de la University of Southern California.

En el año 2008, USC Annenberg decidió enfocar parte de sus investigaciones en Alhambra por la escasa cobertura que esta ciudad recibe de parte de los medios de comunicación, y por su diversidad étnica y linguistica. El objetivo es crear un sitio web multilingüistico que provea noticias locales a la comunidad.

Estamos organizando grupos comunitarios de discusión, realizando encuestas, y monitoreando la información publicada en los medios de comunicación para así evaluar el impacto de Alhambra Source en la participación cívica y la comunicación local.
