Alhambra Police Department will be holding their Seventh Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive all day Thursday to help accident victims, cancer patients, premature babies, burn patients, and any other patients in need of blood. The blood drive — held at 211 S First Street until 8 p.m. — is a friendly competition among any badge-carrying personnel to see who can recruit the most donors.
More than 5,000 donors participated in the police department's 2012 blood drive, according to a press release by APD. Alhambra police and the Red Cross have set a goal of 5,500 donors for this year.
All donors must present a photo ID and will receive a t-shirt and a coupon to Mimi’s Café.
