Alhambra Police arrest two suspects in carjacking and pursuit

Alhambra Police arrested two male carjacking suspects Monday night after a short pursuit ended on the campus of Fremont Elementary, Pasadena Star-News reports. Justin Brandon Perez, 21, of Los Angeles, and Francisco Javier Perez, 24, of Pasadena, allegedly pretended to have handguns in front of Tropic Liquior store at 210 N. Huntington Dr. and demanded a 1998 Lexus from the car owner.

Alhambra Police noticed the vehicle shortly after the suspects fled, officials told the Star-News. The vehicle came to rest on the campus of Fremont Elementary, where police found one of the suspects immediately while the second was hiding in a trash dumpster and was found by a Pasadena police helicopter, Alhambra Police Lt. Jerry Johnson told the Star-News. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned in court Wednesday or Thursday.
