More than 30 local restaurants and scores of residents and visitors participated in The 10th Annual Taste of Alhambra last Sunday — a wine, music, and food festival held on Second Street.
This year’s proceeds will be given to the Alhambra Education Foundation. The non-profit organization's president, Steve Perry, said, “Our foundation’s goal is to support the schools by investing in their future and enhancing their technology.”
The food was paired with car exhibitions and live entertainment by 80’s new wave band The Spazmatics. World Journal reported that the hot weather turned the cold beer into the most popular drink, and "almost everyone had a glass of beer in hand and among more than a dozen American beers, the Chinese brand Tsingtao beer was placed on a prominent spot."
The Taste of Alhambra occurs every year on the First Sunday of June. Tickets were $45 presale and $55 at the door. There are plans to expand next year’s event with an additional evening of entertainment geared towards families.
