Garfield Health Center expanding services

The non-profit Garfield Health Center recently received federal government funding to expand its service in Alhambra, Monterey Park, Rosemead, and San Gabriel, China Press reports. Low-income residents are elligible for free medical services.
The executive director of Garfield Medical Center told China Press that the funding will help the center to expand its capacity from 2250 to 3281 patients. The center also provides service to people without legal immigration status. The social workers in the center provide assistance in applying for MediCal and CalFresh food stamps.
