Construction on Garfield Avenue reportedly causes confusion
Drivers are complaining that plastic lane dividers on Garfield Avenue are confusing and can potentially cause accidents, World Journal (世界日報) reports. The City says that they are a temporary solution and will be removed soon.
The painted lane lines on Garfield were covered under new material during construction, so workers used plastics chips as temporary lane dividers. The chips, however, are not placed in a straight line and some of them are already damaged. Drivers told the World Journal that the lanes are hard to recognize, and accidents may occur as a result of them.
Councilman Sham says he hopes the public can understand the temporary dividers will be removed soon, and the police are not going to ticket the drivers for driving in the wrong lane due to to the dividers.
