AUSD appoints Laura Tellez as new superintendent

The Alhambra Unified School District has appointed Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Laura Tellez as the district's new superintendent. The School Board made the announcement during Tuesday night's meeting, where Tellez's colleagues congratulated her on the appointment. 

Tellez signed a four-year contract with the district, which begins on September 1, after Superintendent Donna Perez is set to retire. She will be earning $203,500 a year.
