In 1962, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Police Officers Memorial Day. The nation will celebrate National Police Week in Washington DC from May 13 through May 19th. In conjunction with National Police Week and other ceremonies held around the country, the Alhambra Police Department will honor its heroes and fallen officers on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. The ceremony will be held in front of the Alhambra Police Department, located at 211 S. First Street at 10:00 am.
During the ceremony, a reading of the Roll Call of Fallen officers will take place. In addition, a dedication plaque will be presented on the Alhambra Police Memorial monument for Officer Ryan Stringer, who recently paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty for the citizens of Alhambra.
The Alhambra Police Department welcomes any member of the public that would like to attend the event.
